Blessings and Greetings!

I am Cantor Cheri Weiss. I received Smicha/Ordination from the Academy for Jewish Religion in Los Angeles, California in May 2018.

I am currently enrolled the Rabbinical program at AJRCA with anticipated ordination in May 2020.

I have served congregations throughout Southern California as Cantorial Intern and Guest Cantor, and have been High Holy Days Cantor in Providence, RI and Houston, TX -- all wonderful experiences.

This year I am very excited to be serving as High Holy Days Cantor at Congregation Beth David in Saratoga, CA. I look forward to celebrating these special holidays with their congregants.

I am excited to announce that I have recently formed the SAN DIEGO JEWISH COMMUNITY CHOIR. Rehearsals begin on WEDNESDAY, JULY 18th at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, 4126 Executive Drive, La Jolla in the Music Room, 7:30-9 pm.

Rehearsals begin with a brief voice lesson. As a former voice teacher at Palomar College and in my private studio, I believe that by helping choir members improve their vocal technique, the overall quality of the choral sound is vastly improved.  The cost is $180 per year (helps pay for the room rental and accompanist).

Please contact me if you are interested in participating:

I am also happy to announce the formation of independent Kabbalat Shabbat services. Our first service will take place FRIDAY, JULY 20 at Standley Park Gazebo, 3585 Governor Drive in University City, 6-8 pm. Bring a chair and your dinner; we will provide drinks, desserts and a fun musical service. All are welcome!  Please click HERE for more details.

My mission is to create and elevate community and spirituality through liturgical music.
